Chef Grand-Mere
Marguerite Bruno
Marguerite is originally from Brittany in
France. She met her future husband, Alfred
Bruno, during World War II. After falling in
love, she actually helped him escape from a Nazi
worker camp and back over to friendly territory!
It
was Marguerite's pioneering spirit that brought
the entire family to America in 1975. |
Elyane Bruno
Marguerite's only daughter, she was born in
Grasse, France, the city of Perfume. Along with
running the family restaurant, Elyane also
completed her Masters at New York University for
Social Working.
Elyane also plans to broaden the restaurant into
a Specialty Foods company featuring her mother's
secret recipes. |
Guillaume
Elyane's only son, Guillaume
(William in English) was only 3 years of
age when he arrived to New York City from Nice,
France. Having learned English in school, and
French at home,
he
has a Northern/New York accent in English and a
Southern accent in French.
In
the picture above he is giving his rendition of a
smile. A very rare occurrence.
